Piano Divas: released 28th March 2017

This is my very first recording and I’m delighted that you’ve either helped fund it or decided to purchase a copy. I wanted to create something that would celebrate the fabulous women of jazz throughout the decades and in particular those who both sang and played piano, and this is my attempt to emulate and capture their performance and arranging skills. My own path to this point has not been conventional – through engineering and teaching and being the product of an incredibly musical family, I’ve created music in just about every genre there is, but I’ve always returned to my real love – jazz and the beauty of improvisation. I’ve taken time to get here and I truly hope you’ll enjoy this record of my arrangements, playing and singing. My special thanks to three truly dedicated musicians, Pat Sprakes, Paul Jefferies and Steve Smith for helping me realise this dream.

Released on 24th March, 2017, this debut album marks the culmination of inspiration, arrangements, rehearsals, recording…all in honour of the pianist singers who sparked the concept of an homage to them.

Featuring arrangements by Wendy Kirkland, Pat Sprakes and Carol Welsman, the album comprises songs made prominent by, or inspired by Diana Krall, Shirley Horn, Carol Welsman, Eliane Elias, Dena Derose, Tania Maria and Blossom Dearie.
